Empowering growth.

Welcome to Stem, where growth and well-being are at the heart of our practice. At Stem Occupational Therapy, we are committed to empowering individuals to reach their fullest potential, nurturing a foundation of health and resilience.

About.

Aleksia graduated with first class Honours in Occupational Therapy from Monash University in 2015. Her Honours project focused on the use of assistive technology for individuals with Motor Neurone Disease (MND) and their carers. While studying, Aleksia gained hands-on experience as both a Disability Support Worker and an Occupational Therapy Research Assistant.

Since graduating, she has worked in community and inpatient rehabilitation, supporting a diverse range of clients, but specialised in working with clients with both progressive and non-progressive neurological conditions, namely Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)/Acquired Brain Injury (ABI), Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) and Multiple Sclerosis (MS). Aleksia has also worked extensively with the Transport Accident Commission (TAC), National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), and JobAccess.

Dedicated to lifelong learning and evidence-based practice, Aleksia has undertaken further professional development in areas such as Bobath, functional electrical stimulation, wheelchair prescription, cognitive rehabilitation techniques (e.g. Goal Management Training, Errorless learning) and postural management.

Aleksia takes a client-centered approach, working closely with individuals in their own environments to help them achieve their personal goals. A strong advocate for her clients, she emphasizes the importance of self-management and participation. Aleksia excels at supporting people with complex needs and uses her expertise in motivational interviewing, assistive technology, home modifications, pain management techniques, and cognitive rehabilitation to empower her clients to succeed.

Outside of her professional life, Aleksia enjoys outdoor activities and spending quality time with her young family.
